Here are the Requirements that for the Vehicles

ESCORT VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS

Vehicles must have a minimum wheel base of 95". The maximum registered weight is 12,000 Lbs. Escort must have a warning sign mounted 5' above the road surface. The sign must be 5' x 10" on a yellow background with black letters 8" high with 1" brush strokes. Two (2) 6" or larger amber warning Lights with 1,000 candlepower must be mounted one on each side of the sign and or AAMVA approved amber warning Light which rotates, oscillates, or flashes through 360 degrees shall be mounted on top of the Escort vehicle. Warning Lights shall be on at all times during Escort movements. There shall be no reduction in mobility of the Escort vehicle by reason of any load on the Escort vehicle. Escorts are required to have two-way radio contact, capable of transmitting ½ mile and a minimum of 4 watts. Escort vehicles must carry the following: 24" "stop" and "slow" paddle sign, eight (8) reflective triangles, eight (8) burning fuses, three (3) orange cones 18" or larger, hard hat, orange vest and flashlight that carries two or more DC batteries. Height measuring pole, made of a non-conductive material, when Escorting any load exceeding 16' 6" in height. Fire extinguisher, first aid kit, One “OVERSIZE LOAD” sign 7' X 18" truck size and spare tire, tire jack, and lug wrench.
